OUR OCTOBER MEMBER SHOWCASE IS ON EMILY JANOWSKYEmily lives in Corte Madera with her husband and teenage sons - a freshman and a senior at Redwood. She's part of the Class of 2020 and Class of 2023 Redwood Parents Connect groups. She's Vice Chair of Corte Madera’s Park and Recreation Commission and is actively involved with the local public schools. She’s in her third year as one of several liaisons for the Redwood Foundation for Corte Madera and Larkspur, helping ensure the Foundation reaches its fundraising goals. She’s also been integral in deciding how to spend the money that gets donated to the Foundation while serving on the Redwood Foundation Allocations Committee comprised of Admin, Teachers, Students and Parents. Emily has also been serving on the RHS Site Council and is the VP of RHS Pigskin Club, the booster group for the football program, and has been on the Pigskin board for over 3 years. As if that’s not enough, she's is a volunteer at Marin Health Medical Center and a passionate supporter of Guide Dogs for the Blind. She advocated for the launch of a dog therapy program at Redwood, after having successfully implemented a similar program at Hall Middle School (with Madeleine Geloso and her dog Thornton). Her dog, Rocket, is now one of two certified therapy dogs making weekly visits to campus. They spend time in the special ed classroom and are available for students and staff Mondays at lunch outside of the Wellness Center. How do you do it all Emily? Emily says “Personally it's made this chapter of parenting more fun and meaningful for me.” Thank you for your many contributions to our community! And we’re so glad you’re such an active member of Redwood Parents Connect and very appreciative for all of the times you’ve offered your home to us for our discussion groups!
